Chino Police Department

The officers in the Patrol Bureau are responsible for continuously patrolling all areas of the city to deter criminal activity.  In addition, they respond to the calls for service generated by the public, conduct traffic stops, business checks, and other self-initiated activity.  All officers are graduates of a California Criminal Justice Academy and have completed an extensive field training program with an experienced Field Training Officer.

The patrol officers strive toward community policing and are required to complete directed patrols in their areas on a daily basis. Officers on each  shift are assigned to a particular area of the City allowing them to become familiar with the businesses and residents in their area.  This also allows the members of the community the opportunity to know the officers assigned to protect them.

Patrol vehicles are equipped with MDC's (Mobile Data Computers), which allow officers to quickly check the status of a vehicle or person by simply entering some basic information into the terminal. These terminals have been a great asset in locating missing persons, locating wanted persons and recovering stolen vehicles and/or property.

If you have a question regarding the Patrol Bureau, you may reqest to speak to the Watch Commander at (909) 628-1234.
