Chino Police Department

Concealed Weapons Permit Applications

The Chief of Police may issue a concealed weapons permit to qualified applicants per Chino Police Department Policy Section 218.2 when an applicant meets the following requirements:

• The applicant must be a resident of the city of Chino
• The applicant must be at least 21 years of age
• The applicant must be of good moral character
• The applicant must show good cause for the issuance of the license

In further defining good cause for the issuance of a concealed weapons permit, it is the policy of the Chino Police Department that no concealed weapons license will be granted merely for the purpose of personal convenience of the applicant. An applicant must provide convincing evidence of a clear and present danger to his/her life or the imminent threat of bodily harm, which cannot be effectively resolved by existing law enforcement resources, or which cannot be reasonably avoided by alternative measures.

In the event a request for a C.C.W. Permit is denied by the Chino Police Department, applicants may apply for a C.C.W. Permit with the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department.

To apply for a C.C.W., send an email to Sgt. Derek Bishop. Please provide your name, address, date of birth, California Driver's License number and a detailed description as to the reason for your request.
