Emergency Preparedness
Fingerprinting Fingerprinting services are available for application procedures. All fingerprinting services are performed using "Livescan" technology. The Chino Police Department provides this type of fingerprinting service on Wednesdays by appointment only. The hours for these appointments are 8:00am-11:30am and 3:00pm-3:30pm. Please call (909) 334-3001 to schedule an appointment. Fees are subject to change. Current fees are $25.00 roll fee plus state and county fees. PLEASE NOTE: The Chino Police Department does not fingerprint
Fix-It Tickets Please bring your citation with you. The specific problem with the vehicle must be completely corrected. The officer performing the service will conduct a safety check of the vehicle's lights, horn brakes, and other safety devices to make certain they are functional. Failure of a safety check could result in additional enforcement action by the officer. Extensions for citations are issued by the court of jurisdiction. If you need an extension, please call the court of jurisdiction directly.
Lobby Hours and Information The Police Department business office/lobby is open to the public Monday thru Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. except holidays.
Megan's Law - Registered Sex Offenders Information The State of California Department of Justice has made the Registered Sex Offender information available on line. Go to the Megan's Law website (www.meganslaw.ca.gov) to access this information. The database may be searched by name, county of residence, or by zip code. Searches by City or address are not permitted. The database contains photographs, physical descriptions and offenses the registrant was convicted of. The database does not proved addresses of registered sex offenders. The database provides information in 13 different languages.
For payment and citation dispute information please refer to the back of the Parking Violation Citation. Citations for moving violations are NOT contested at the Police Department.
Property Release If you need to collect your property from our evidence unit, please contact our Evidence Technicians at (909) 334-3085. This service is by appointment only. If you are unable to reach a Technician please leave a voice mail message including your case number. They will return your call as soon as they are able to set up an appointment with you. Registrants If you are a registrant that needs to update your information with our agency, please call our Records Bureau at (909) 334-3001. This service is done by appointment only, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. You will be required to complete paperwork and you will need to have your arrest/conviction/ probation/parole information with you. Please also have with you a valid form of picture identification
Reports - Police and Collision
FEES: First 9 pages-no charge; 10th page $1.00; In order to obtain a copy of a police report, please call the Records Bureau at (909) 334-3001. Please have your case number available for reference. When you pay the fee, you will fill out a request form and must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. A copy of the report will be mailed to you within 10 working days. Copies of reports are not delivered over the counter. Collision Reports: FEES: First 9 pages - no charge; 10th page - $1.00; When you pay the fee, you will fill out a request form and must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. Repossession FEES: $15.00 (state-mandated vehicle repossession fee) Upon paying the fee, you must show your receipt to the repossession company regarding your vehicle.
Station Tours
The Crime Prevention Unit of the Chino Police Department provides tours to small groups. Please contact Crime Prevention Manager, Tamrin Olden for information on dates and times. Groups should be limited to 30 or less, and must have adult supervision. Tours last approximately 45-60 minutes.

VIN Verification FEES: A $36.00 fee is charged for this service-payable in advance. If the vehicle is non-operational, an officer can be sent to the location as long as the vehicle is within the city of Chino city limits. The fee must be paid first at the Police Department.
