The College Park Ultimate Improvement project is currently underway, aimed at enhancing the quality of the surrounding area. This project encompasses a wide range of construction activities, including the construction of storm drains, street widening, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, pavement rehabilitation, Ayala Park entrance improvements, traffic signal improvements, and pedestrian accessibility improvements. The project team is committed to ensuring minimal disruption to the community while improving the overall infrastructure of the area. The end result will be a safer, more accessible, and more attractive community for all residents and visitors.
Along Edison Avenue from Central Avenue to east of Oaks Avenue. Includes intersections and entrances along Edison Avenue at Central Avenue, 12th Street, YMCA entrance, Connie Yankey Way and Oaks Avenue.

March 2023 – The south side of Edison was excavated and prepped for proposed improvements. The contractor began placement of asphalt base.
April 2023 – Placement of asphalt base continued. The contractor began pouring curb & gutter.
May 2023 – Scheduled work includes installation of dry utilities, curb ramps, and sidewalk.
June 2023 – Scheduled work includes installation of the landscape median.
July 2023 – Installation of landscape median is scheduled to continue. The contractor is also scheduled to complete other improvements including traffic signal modifications and monument signs.
August 2023 – Scheduled work includes installation of ADA ramps at street intersections, standing street light poles, and pulling dry utility wires.
September 2023 –Installation of ADA ramps, standing of street light poles, and pulling of dry utility wires is scheduled to continue. Final improvements, consisting of final asphalt pavement cap and street signing & striping will be installed after Southern California Edison (SCE) adjusts their vault/manhole structures to new street elevation.
Fall 2023 - Expected project completion.
Recent rain events may impact the end date.
Construction will include installation of a new storm drain system along Edison, widening of Edison to a 6-lane roadway from Central to Oaks Avenues, installation of curb, gutter, sidewalk, streetlights, pedestrian ramps, landscape median and traffic signal improvements.

Expect long-term traffic control in the area reducing lanes, lane merging, lane shifting and intermittent closures of entrances into Ayala Park. Access to Ayala Park will be maintained at all times.
